Children accidents on farms

Farming has one of the highest rates of accidents of any other industry. As most farms are also homes for many children it is not surprising that the number of accidents on farms which involve children is also high.

There are many hazards present on farms. Tractors and moving machinery, poisonous substances such as pesticides and other chemicals, grain silos, stacks of bales that may become unstable or easily catch fire are just a few of the potential hazards on farms. Farm animals can also be a cause of injury and, in some cases, disease.

Despite a number of laws being introduced to prevent children’s accidents on farms, accidents do still happen. Many of these accidents, however, are preventable.
