Boy dies in farm slurry pit accident
The youngster was found in a slurry pit by his father who dragged him out. A rapid response vehicle and air ambulance arrived at the scene and crews immediately began advanced life support.
A seven year old boy has died in a tragic farm accident.
Ambulance Crews continued to administer emergency medical aid as the boy was airlifted to the Princess Royal Hospital where medics were standing by.
Unfortunately, in spite of the efforts of the family, ambulance crews and the medical staff at the hospital the child was confirmed dead not long after his arrival at the hospital.
An enquiry into the accident will be conducted by West Mercia Police in conjunction with the Health & Safety Executive.
The Health & Safety Executive have produced a leaflet with guidance on accident prevention for children on farms.
